Product Agent overview
The Product Agent lives inside your own product. It answers your users' questions and completes tasks for them on the page, signed in as the user.
The Product Agent is an assistant inside your own product. Your users open it, ask a question in their own words, and get an answer that fits their account. When they want something done, it can do the task for them on the page.
It works for the user who is signed in, with exactly the access that user has.
What your users experience#
A launcher sits in a corner of your product. When a user opens it, they see a few suggested tasks for the page they are on, and a place to type.
-
For a question, Pluno answers from what it knows about your product and what it sees on the user's page. For a how-to question, it offers to do the task for them.
-
For a task, Pluno carries it out in the user's current tab, then checks that the change really took effect before it says it is done.
-
For a problem it cannot solve, such as a suspected bug, Pluno hands the conversation to your support team with the context and the actions it already took, so the user does not have to explain everything again.
Users can attach a screenshot or a PDF to show what they mean.
How it works on the page#
Pluno does not need you to build an API for it or define actions in advance.
- It reads the page. With each message, Pluno gets the page's address and title, the visible text and an outline of the page's structure.
- It understands the user's setup. Pluno sees the calls your product makes to its own backend, which tell it how this user's account is configured.
- It acts through your product. Pluno prefers your product's own API, the same one your interface uses, and falls back to operating the interface when needed. If a user asks to be shown, it takes the visible route.
- It learns your product over time. Through training, Pluno builds up knowledge of how your product works and which tasks users ask for.
What it can and cannot do#
Pluno can do what the signed-in user can do in the current tab, and nothing more. It has no access of its own to your systems.
- It works in the current tab only, and cannot use other tabs.
- It does not run scheduled or recurring work.
- Before a task that is destructive or cannot be undone, it asks the user to confirm in the chat.
Use the custom prompt to guide Pluno, for example on tasks it should leave to the user. For hard limits, rely on the user's permissions in your product, since Pluno can never do more than the signed-in user.
What it knows#
| Source | How it gets there |
|---|---|
| Your product itself | Pluno learns from real user chats and from the material you give it in training |
| Your documentation and past tickets | Link a knowledge hub to your domain. This needs a Pluno workspace with a help desk connected |
| The web | Pluno can search the web when that helps |
