Connect Jira to AI Copilot
Give AI Copilot the context of your Jira issues, so agents see known bugs and fixes on the ticket. Covers setup, what is synced, restrictions and Linear.
When Jira is connected, AI Copilot can find issues that match a ticket and point your agent to them: a known bug, a fix in progress, a workaround an engineer wrote in a comment.
The same connection powers Jira escalations, so you only set it up once.
Before you start#
- You have the Admin role in Pluno.
- You are a Jira admin. If you are not, use the Not a Jira admin? link on the setup page to send the steps to someone who is.
Connect Jira#
- In the Pluno web app, open Copilot, then Jira connection.
- Select Install Pluno Jira App and install the app in Jira.
- When Jira shows a notification that the installation finished, select Manage. If you miss it, go to Settings, then Apps, then Manage Apps, then Pluno, then Configure.
- Jira now asks for a Pluno Auth Token. Follow the link on that page to Generate Pluno Auth Token in Pluno, and select Generate token.
- Copy the token, paste it into Jira, and select Submit.
Jira confirms with Configuration successful! Go back to the Pluno web app. The page now shows Jira Connected.
Jira context starts appearing in Copilot after the next daily sync, which can be up to a day after you connect.
What Pluno reads from Jira#
- Which issues. Issues created in the last 12 months, up to 50,000, from all projects and issue types.
- Which details. Key, summary, description, comments, status, project, issue type, assignee, priority, labels and the link to the issue.
- How often. Once a day.
The Pluno Jira app asks for read and write access, because the same app creates issues for Escalation Copilot.
How issues appear to your agents#
Copilot mentions matching issues in Agent guidance and lists them under References, by issue key or as a link.
Limit which issues Copilot uses#
You can restrict Copilot to certain projects and issue types for each brand.
- Open Escalation Copilot, then Jira escalation.
- Find Restrict Projects & Issue Types and choose what each brand may use.
The restriction applies to both Copilot and escalations.
Connect more than one Jira site#
On the Jira Connection page, select Connect to another Jira instance and repeat the steps. Each site needs the Pluno app installed. Copilot searches all connected sites together.
Disconnect Jira#
Uninstall the Pluno app in Jira, under Settings, then Apps, then Manage Apps. To have the issues Pluno already synced removed as well, contact the Pluno team.
Use Linear instead, or as well#
Copilot reads Linear issues the same way once Linear is connected. Linear is set up under Escalation Copilot. See Set up Linear escalations.
Pluno syncs Linear issues created in the last 12 months, with their comments, once a day.
