Freshdesk pricing in 2026 starts at $19 per agent a month for Growth, then $55 for Pro and $89 for Enterprise, billed annually. Monthly billing costs about 20% more. AI sits on top: Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent, and Freddy AI Agent sessions cost $49 per 100 once your one-time 500 free sessions run out.
I read Freshworks' pricing pages, help articles and archived versions of the pricing page to put every number in one place. This is desk research from Freshworks' own documentation, not a hands-on test of the product. All Freshdesk prices are US list prices with a link to their source. Pluno's prices are in euros.
Prices checked: October 19, 2026.
Disclosure: I work at Pluno, which sells an AI layer that runs inside your help desk, including Freshdesk.
To compare plans fairly, I describe each one with the same five yardsticks:
- Price per agent: the annual and monthly list price.
- What it adds: the main features you get over the plan below.
- AI included: what Freddy AI you get without paying extra.
- AI extra: the Freddy AI you'd still buy on top.
- Best fit: the kind of team it suits.
TL;DR: How much does Freshdesk cost?
- Plans: Growth $19, Pro $55 and Enterprise $89 per agent a month on annual billing. Monthly billing is $23, $66 and $107.
- Free option: a Free program for up to 2 agents that lasts 6 months. It isn't a free-forever plan anymore.
- AI: Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent a month on Pro and Enterprise only. AI Agent sessions cost $49 per 100 ($0.49 each), and the 500 free sessions are a one-time allowance.
- Omnichannel: Freshdesk Omni adds chat and other channels for $29, $79 and $119 per agent.
- Bottom line: a 10-agent Pro team that buys Copilot for everyone and 1,500 AI sessions a month pays about $1,575 a month, or $157.50 per agent, nearly three times the seat price. Budget AI separately from seats.
Freshdesk pricing at a glance (2026)
Freshdesk charges per agent for its plans, then adds usage-based charges for AI sessions and automation. The plans are Growth at $19, Pro at $55 and Enterprise at $89 per agent a month on annual billing, plus a six-month Free program for two agents. Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent, and Freddy AI Agent sessions are $49 per 100.
Here's every Freshdesk pricing 2026 figure a support team needs, from the Freshdesk pricing page and the Freshdesk Omni pricing page.
Subscriptions (per agent, per month):
| Plan or seat add-on | Annual billing | Monthly billing |
|---|---|---|
| Free program | $0 (up to 2 agents, 6 months) | $0 |
| Growth | $19 | $23 |
| Pro | $55 | $66 |
| Enterprise | $89 | $107 |
| Freshdesk Omni Growth / Pro / Enterprise | $29 / $79 / $119 | $35 / $95 / $143 |
| Freddy AI Copilot (Pro and Enterprise) | $29 | $35 |
Usage-based charges (same price on annual and monthly billing):
| Add-on | Price | What's included before you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Freddy AI Agent sessions | $49 per 100 sessions | 500 sessions, once per account |
| Day passes | $2 / $7 / $12 per pass on Growth / Pro / Enterprise | 3 free day passes |
| Connector app tasks | $80 per 5,000 tasks | Not stated on the pricing page |
| MCP actions | $15 per 1,000 actions | 1,200 / 6,000 / 12,000 actions a year on Growth / Pro / Enterprise |
What the units mean:
- Agent seat: a named full-time agent, billed every month.
- Day pass: one day of access for an occasional agent who logs in to the help desk.
- Session: one customer's conversation with Freddy AI Agent, billed whether or not it resolves anything.
- Connector app task: one step run by a Freshworks pre-built connector to another app.
- MCP action: one action an AI tool takes in Freshdesk through its Model Context Protocol connection.
Every paid plan starts with a 14-day trial of Enterprise. Freshworks says on its pricing page that there are no cancellation fees, though a cancellation takes effect only at the end of your term.
If AI is the reason you're pricing Freshdesk, buying Freddy AI isn't the only route. You can also add a separate AI layer, such as Pluno, inside Freshdesk. I compare the two billing models later in this guide.
Freshdesk pricing plans in 2026: Growth vs Pro vs Enterprise
Each of the Freshdesk plans adds routing, reporting and admin controls on top of the one below it. The AI options change too, because Freddy AI Copilot can't be bought on Growth.
Free program: Freshdesk's free option
The Free program gives you up to two agents at no cost, but only for six months. After that you upgrade or lose access.
- Price per agent: $0 for up to two agents, for six months.
- What it adds: email and social ticketing, ticket dispatch, a knowledge base, a ticket trend report and 24x5 email support.
- AI included: none listed.
- AI extra: none. Freddy AI is sold with the paid plans.
- Best fit: a founder or a two-person team testing a help desk before committing.
It covers Freshdesk only, not Freshdesk Omni. Once you upgrade to a paid plan, Freshworks says you can't switch back to the Free program.
Growth: $19 per agent
Growth is the entry paid plan for email-based support.
- Price per agent: $19 on annual billing, $23 on monthly.
- What it adds: a shared inbox, a customer portal and knowledge base, out-of-the-box reporting, threads and tasks, and roles and permissions.
- AI included: Freddy AI Agent with the one-time 500 sessions.
- AI extra: session packs only. Freddy AI Copilot isn't listed as an add-on on Growth.
- Best fit: small teams that answer mostly email and don't need AI drafting replies.
Pro: $55 per agent
Freshworks labels Pro "Most popular," and it's the cheapest plan where your agents can get Copilot.
- Price per agent: $55 on annual billing, $66 on monthly.
- What it adds: a multilingual help desk, custom dashboards, intelligent routing, multiple SLA policies and external collaborators.
- AI included: Freddy AI Agent with the one-time 500 sessions.
- AI extra: Copilot at $29 per agent and session packs.
- Best fit: growing teams with more than one product or language, and anyone who wants AI suggestions inside the ticket.
Enterprise: $89 per agent
Enterprise adds skill-based routing and the controls larger teams need for testing and security reviews.
- Price per agent: $89 on annual billing, $107 on monthly.
- What it adds: skill-based routing, a sandbox, audit logs and IP whitelisting.
- AI included: Freddy AI Agent with the one-time 500 sessions, plus Freddy AI Insights.
- AI extra: Copilot at $29 per agent and session packs.
- Best fit: larger teams that need to test changes in a sandbox, route by skill and pass security reviews.
Freshdesk vs Freshdesk Omni pricing
Freshdesk Omni is the omnichannel version of Freshdesk, and it costs $10 to $30 more per agent. You'd choose it when chat and other messaging channels need to live next to email tickets.
| Tier | Freshdesk (annual) | Freshdesk Omni (annual) | Difference per agent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $19 | $29 | +$10 |
| Pro | $55 | $79 | +$24 |
| Enterprise | $89 | $119 | +$30 |
The AI add-ons cost the same on both. Day passes cost more on Omni, at $5, $10 and $15 per day.
One billing detail differs. A chat AI Agent session on Omni lasts 24 hours from the start of the conversation, while an email session spans 72 hours from the customer's first email, according to Freshworks' Freddy AI add-ons article.
What Freddy AI costs on top of your plan
Freddy AI is billed in two ways at once. Copilot is charged per agent, and the AI Agent is charged per session, so your AI cost grows with both headcount and ticket volume.
Freddy AI Agent: $49 per 100 sessions
Freddy AI Agent is the customer-facing bot. Freshworks bills it per session, defined as a unique interaction between a customer and the AI Agent.
- The 500 free sessions: Freshworks calls them a one-time complimentary allowance for new customers on Growth, Pro or Enterprise. They don't renew each month.
- What's billable: every session, whether it resolves the question or hands it to an agent.
- Expiry: according to Freshworks' sessions FAQ, packs expire at the end of the billing cycle you bought them in, and unused sessions don't carry over.
- Testing: previewing an AI Agent while you build it uses sessions, even before it's published.
- Running out: when sessions run out, the AI Agent stops responding and conversations go to live agents. Auto-recharge can add a pack when your balance drops below 50 sessions, but only for customers who pay online.
- Best fit: high-volume, repetitive questions where most sessions end without a handoff.
A session price isn't the same as a price per answered question. What you pay per resolved question depends on how many sessions Freddy resolves. These rates are illustrations, not Freddy benchmarks:
| If Freddy resolves this share of sessions | Effective cost per resolved session |
|---|---|
| 30% | $1.63 |
| 50% | $0.98 |
| 70% | $0.70 |
Measure your own resolution rate during the trial and use it in this calculation before you compare Freddy with any AI billed per resolution.
Freddy AI Copilot: $29 per agent a month
Copilot is the agent-facing assistant. It drafts and refines replies, summarizes tickets and suggests solution articles.
- Who can buy it: teams on Pro and Enterprise. You can assign it to some agents rather than all.
- Price: $29 per agent on annual billing, $35 on monthly. Day passes don't cover Copilot.
- Bonus: buying one Copilot license turns on Freddy AI Insights for the whole account.
Freddy AI Insights
Insights surfaces trends and anomalies for support managers. It's included in Enterprise, and on Pro it comes with your first Copilot license. Freshworks doesn't sell it separately.
Freshdesk pricing per agent: a worked example
Freshdesk pricing per agent looks simple, but AI changes the total fast. I priced one support team on every plan, so you can see where the money goes. Replace my assumptions with your own numbers before you set a budget.
The scenario: 10 agents, annual billing, Copilot for every agent where it's available, and 1,500 Freddy AI Agent sessions a month after the free 500 are used up.
| Plan | Seats | Copilot | AI Agent sessions | Total per month | All-in per agent |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | 10 × $19 = $190 | Not available | 15 packs × $49 = $735 | $925 | $92.50 |
| Pro | 10 × $55 = $550 | 10 × $29 = $290 | $735 | $1,575 | $157.50 |
| Enterprise | 10 × $89 = $890 | 10 × $29 = $290 | $735 | $1,915 | $191.50 |
| Omni Pro | 10 × $79 = $790 | 10 × $29 = $290 | $735 | $1,815 | $181.50 |
How to read it:
- AI charges exceed seat costs in the Growth and Pro examples. On Pro, Copilot and sessions add $1,025, almost double the $550 in seats.
- Sessions scale with customers, not agents. Hiring a new agent adds $84 on Pro with Copilot. A busy month with 1,000 extra sessions adds $490 even if nobody joins the team.
- Monthly billing raises the seat lines. The same Pro team on monthly billing pays $660 for seats and $350 for Copilot, so $1,745 in total.
- Your first month costs less than later ones. The one-time 500 sessions are worth $245 (5 packs). After they're used up, the full session line applies every month.
To run your own numbers, move the sliders below. The calculator uses the same list prices and leaves out the same extra costs.
Freshdesk cost estimator
US list prices, October 2026: per-agent plan prices, Freddy AI Copilot at $29 (annual) or $35 (monthly) per agent on Pro and Enterprise, and AI Agent sessions at $49 per 100. Excludes the one-time 500 free sessions, day passes, connector tasks, MCP actions, phone and taxes.
Growth
$925
No Copilot on Growth
Pro
$1,575
Seats + Copilot + sessions
Enterprise
$1,915
Seats + Copilot + sessions
On Pro, Freddy AI is 65% of your monthly bill: $290 for Copilot and $735 for sessions. Treat it as a floor, not a quote.
Freshdesk's additional costs beyond the base plan
The per-agent price is only the first line of the bill. These costs are disclosed, but they're spread across add-on lists, help articles and other product pages.
Plan upgrades for a single feature. Skill-based routing, a sandbox and audit logs are Enterprise features. If you need one of them, every agent moves up a tier, which costs $34 more per agent than Pro.
Sessions you don't use, and sessions spent on testing. Unused sessions expire with your billing cycle, and previewing an AI Agent during setup uses sessions. Budget a small test allowance before launch, and buy packs close to your real volume.
Day passes. Part-time or seasonal agents can use day passes instead of full seats: $2, $7 or $12 a day depending on your plan, after the 3 free passes every plan includes. They're cheaper than a seat only if someone logs in for a few days a month.
Connector app tasks and MCP actions. Freshworks' pre-built connectors consume tasks, sold at $80 per 5,000. MCP actions are $15 per 1,000 after the yearly allowance of 1,200, 6,000 or 12,000 actions. Both matter once you automate work across tools.
Phone support. Voice is a separate product. Freshcaller has a Free plan at $0 per agent plus per-minute calling charges, and its paid plans start at $15 per agent a month on annual billing, also plus minutes.
Admin time. Someone has to maintain canned responses, automation rules and the knowledge base Freddy answers from. That's people cost, not license cost, but it grows with every workflow you add.
How Freshdesk's prices have changed since 2024
Freshdesk prices rose by early 2026, and the free plan shrank before that. This is why older guides often quote different numbers. Each change below comes from Freshworks' own pages or archived copies of them.
| Date | Change |
|---|---|
| October 2024 | Freshworks announces that from November 15, 2024, the Free plan drops from ten agent licenses to two |
| December 29, 2025 | The archived pricing page still shows $15, $49 and $79 per agent on annual billing |
| By January 16, 2026 | The archived pricing page shows $19, $55 and $89, between 12% and 27% more depending on the tier |
| September 2026 | The Free plan is described as a six-month Free program for up to 2 agents |
The archive shows the new prices by January 16, 2026, but not the exact day Freshworks changed them. Copilot stayed at $29 per agent and session packs at $49 per 100 through the period I checked.
Zendesk vs Freshdesk pricing
On published list prices, Freshdesk costs less than Zendesk for omnichannel support and the same for email-only ticketing. The plans aren't identical in features, so compare what each tier includes, not only its name. Zendesk prices come from the Zendesk pricing page.
| Comparison | Freshdesk | Zendesk |
|---|---|---|
| Email ticketing only | Growth, $19 | Support Team, $19 |
| Entry omnichannel plan | Omni Growth, $29 | Suite Team, $55 |
| Mid-tier omnichannel plan | Omni Pro, $79 | Suite Professional, $115 |
| Agent-facing AI | Copilot, $29 per agent | Copilot, $50 per agent |
| Customer-facing AI included | 500 sessions, once per account | 5 automated resolutions per agent a month on Team plans, 10 on Professional, capped at 10,000 a year |
| Customer-facing AI after that | $0.49 per session | $1.50 committed or $2.00 pay-as-you-go per automated resolution |
The billing units are the real difference. Freshdesk charges for every session the AI Agent starts. Zendesk includes a monthly allowance, then charges for resolutions, so its unit price is higher but a handoff doesn't count. My Freshdesk vs Zendesk comparison covers features and migration, and Zendesk AI pricing unpacks the resolution model.
How to lower your Freshdesk bill
Here's how I'd keep Freshdesk pricing under control once you've picked a plan.
- Count your sessions before buying packs. Pull a month of chats and emails that the AI would see. Remember that one email session covers 72 hours of replies, and that unused sessions expire.
- Assign Copilot by role. Give it to agents who write long replies, not to everyone. Admins and team leads who mostly triage may not need it.
- Use day passes for seasonal staff. At $7 a day on Pro, a pass beats a $55 seat for anyone working fewer than eight days a month.
- Stay on Pro unless you need an Enterprise feature. Check whether you really need skill-based routing, a sandbox or audit logs before moving 20 agents up $34 each.
- Commit annually once the setup is stable. Paying annually cuts the per-agent price by about 17% compared with monthly billing ($55 instead of $66 on Pro). Keep monthly billing while you're still testing.
Contract length, billing frequency and your right to remove seats are three separate terms. Check each one in your order form before you sign a multi-year deal.
What people actually say about Freshdesk pricing
Reviewers often credit Freshdesk for its price, and some moved from Zendesk to save money. The complaints start when a feature they need sits on a higher plan. These five G2 and Capterra reviews illustrate recurring themes. They aren't a representative sample of every Freshdesk customer.
“The switch from Zendesk to Freshdesk was primarily because of the significantly cheaper pricing that Freshdesk offers.”
“For the cost, FreshDesk is a great ticketing platform.”
“However if you're looking to use KPI's you'd need to use a Pro plan which is quite expensive for a start up company.”
“The design is maybe not the best, like add-ons feature requires expensive plans. The software can feel expensive and slow when handling large ticket volumes.”
“When the Garden plan was discontinued, Freshworks warned that not upgrading to Pro could cause service interruptions or access limitations. ... we would have to keep paying for all 19 seats for 24 months, even if we stopped using most of them.”
The common thread isn't that Freshdesk is expensive at the start. It's that the bill grows once you need a higher tier or AI on top, which is what the calculator above helps you check. The 24-month seat commitment in the last review describes that customer's contract, not a standard Freshdesk term.
Is Freshdesk worth the price?
Freshdesk is worth it when you want a help desk that's quick to set up and cheaper per agent than most of its competitors. In my view, it's best value for small and mid-size teams whose questions can mostly be answered from a help center.
The value gets weaker as AI takes a bigger share of the bill. Freddy AI charges per session, whether or not the question gets answered, and Copilot is a second meter per agent. If your tickets are technical, the answers often live in past tickets and engineering tools, not in help center articles.
That's where an AI layer comes in. Pluno is an AI layer you add directly inside your existing help desk, and that includes Freshdesk. You keep Freshdesk for ticketing, and AI supports every part of your support workflow without changing how your team works. It covers the core jobs you'd buy Freddy AI for, answering customers and assisting agents, and adds technical investigation and engineering escalation.
What Pluno adds for Freshdesk teams:
- Technical ticket resolution: the AI agent learns from your resolved tickets first, then your help center and the tools your team uses, such as Slack or Jira. It replies only when its sources agree.
- Investigation: the Troubleshooting Agent checks code, logs and error tracking to find the root cause of a technical issue.
- Agent assistance: when a ticket needs a person, AI Copilot drafts the reply inside the ticket with a summary and its sources, for your agent to review and send.
- Engineering escalation: when the issue is a bug, Escalation Copilot sends it to Slack, Jira, Linear, Microsoft Teams or incident.io with the report filled in, and syncs updates back to the ticket.
- Trends and quality: topic trends show what customers ask about most, and Quality Assurance scores every conversation against your own criteria.
These steps share one ticket. What the AI agent or the Troubleshooting Agent found stays on the ticket, so your agent and your engineers start from that context instead of re-diagnosing the issue.
For a sense of results, Innovorder, whose restaurant software spans both software and hardware, resolves 67% of its chat and WhatsApp tickets with Pluno on Zendesk.
What Pluno costs (in euros, monthly billing, from Pluno pricing):
- Platform fee by monthly ticket volume: 249€ for up to 500 tickets, rising with volume (for example, 999€ up to 3,000 tickets). The fee follows all the tickets your team handles, not only the ones the AI resolves. It includes the AI agent, AI Tagging, Escalation Copilot, topic trends and call summaries.
- Usage and seats: 0.90€ for each ticket the AI agent fully resolves. Tickets handed to your team carry no resolution fee, unlike a Freddy AI Agent session. AI Copilot is 49€ per agent seat.
- Separate modules: Quality Assurance at 35€ per agent per month, and the Troubleshooting Agent from 99€ a month.
- Still needed: your Freshdesk plan for ticketing.
Pluno isn't automatically cheaper than Freddy AI, because the platform fee comes first. Compare the two on what you pay per resolved ticket, how good the answers are and how much agent and engineering time each saves, using the effective-cost table above.
If you're still choosing a help desk, my Freshdesk alternatives guide compares nine options on price and switching cost.
The bottom line
Freshdesk pricing is low per agent: $19, $55 or $89 a month on annual billing, with a six-month Free program for two agents. The real bill depends on AI, because Copilot adds $29 per agent and every AI Agent session costs $0.49 once the one-time 500 are gone.
Price seats and AI separately, model your session volume before you buy packs, and check whether one Enterprise feature is worth moving every agent up a tier. If your tickets are technical, a free Pluno simulation on your last 50 tickets shows what an AI layer inside Freshdesk would answer.
FAQ
How much does Freshdesk cost per month?
Freshdesk costs $19, $55 or $89 per agent a month on annual billing for Growth, Pro and Enterprise. On monthly billing, the same plans cost $23, $66 and $107. Freddy AI is extra.
Is Freshdesk still free?
Only for a while. Since November 15, 2024, the Free plan covers 2 agents instead of 10, and Freshworks now describes it as a Free program that lasts six months. After that you need a paid plan, and you can't return to the Free program once you upgrade. It applies to Freshdesk only, not Freshdesk Omni.
Did Freshdesk raise its prices?
Yes. Archived copies of the pricing page show annual prices of $15, $49 and $79 per agent in late December 2025, and $19, $55 and $89 by January 16, 2026. Copilot and AI Agent session prices didn't change.
Does Freshdesk charge per agent?
Yes. Freshdesk pricing is per agent per month, and Copilot is also per agent. Freddy AI Agent is the exception, billed per session at $49 per 100. Day passes let occasional agents pay per day instead of holding a full seat.
How much is Freddy AI?
Freddy AI Copilot costs $29 per agent a month on annual billing, or $35 monthly, and is available on Pro and Enterprise. Freddy AI Agent costs $49 per 100 sessions after a one-time allowance of 500 free sessions.
What is a Freddy AI Agent session?
A session is one customer's interaction with the AI Agent. On chat it lasts 24 hours from the start of the conversation, and on email it spans 72 hours from the customer's first message. You pay for each session whether or not the AI resolves the question.
What are the Freshdesk pricing plans for 2026?
The Freshdesk pricing plans for 2026 are the Free program, Growth, Pro and Enterprise. Freshdesk Omni has its own Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans at $29, $79 and $119 per agent for teams that need chat and other channels.
Is Freshdesk cheaper than Zendesk?
On list prices, mostly yes. In a Zendesk vs Freshdesk pricing comparison for omnichannel support, Freshdesk Omni starts at $29 per agent against $55 for Zendesk Suite Team, while email-only plans both start at $19. AI billing differs: Freshdesk charges per session, and Zendesk includes a monthly allowance and then charges per resolution.
What is the difference between Freshdesk and Freshdesk Omni?
Freshdesk focuses on email and social ticketing. Freshdesk Omni adds chat and other messaging channels in one workspace and costs $10 to $30 more per agent. The Free program is only available on Freshdesk.
Can I pay for Freshdesk monthly?
Yes. Monthly billing costs about 20% more than annual billing, which is the same as saying annual billing saves about 17%. You can upgrade at any time, but downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of your current term.
